Kyoto <3

No! I am not talking about Kyoto the city, I am talking about my favorite sushi roll at Edo!

Edo

Kyoto was created by two of my friends… who also nicknamed it “Absuli”. The order comes in four pieces only

Kyoto - Absuli

I actually crave this roll every now and then… and make a special trip just to have it! You get a surprise with every bite! Mint, wasabi, gigner, sesame, avocado… and more! Strong intense taste… bite after another! Hmmmmm I love it! Its sexy!

Edo is located in Shaab and their telephone number is: 2265-9590

  1. speaking of delicious Japanese food: i had some tirayaki beef roll appetizer at fusion long time ago and it was super good, any chance you can sneak in the recipe for it ? yesterday i was thinking about it while driving back from work…

p.s. does anybody know if fusion still has the ‘all you can eat sushi/maki plate’ for 5 KD ?!

  2. Hi there! I don’t blog anymore, but I thought I would share an old post with you from my former blog, where I was the first to review the Absuli (aka Kyoto) roll. Enjoy! πŸ™‚

    • Kleio! My God! Your review is WAY better than my two liners hehehe! I just love that roll! I cant even begin to describe it! hehehe loved your post. How come you dont blog anymore?

  3. I’m Huuuuuungry!!! and was craving sushi all morning! now you did it for me… it will be EDO tonight! πŸ™‚

  4. Hahaha…Between you and me, I wrote the review before I actually tried it since I was (and still am) living in London. But when I did finally try it, it totally lived up to my review, and more! I too am close friends with the two creators. πŸ™‚

Man, now I’m craving Edo too and I’m going to have to wait until at least September!!

As for why I don’t blog anymore, I simply don’t have time. I do sometimes miss it – although I only had about five readers – but since I’m writing my PhD at the moment it’s just not feasible! But maybe one day… πŸ™‚

    • LOL! I think I will go again today for more! I am craving it too! Inshalla you will have time again. Good luck on your Ph, D.

  5. Oh yes Ansam you are EVIL!!
Putting pictures of all these DELICIOUS FOOD!!! and I find myself eating more since I started following your blog :p

  6. I love EDO … It is my best place to have sushi. I don’t normly get wild with my orders, but I have to try this one πŸ™‚

  7. ok we all know abs and suli are always together, but our information was it was only a Suli roll.

by the way, did you know Edo Crispy is out!!! we have to wait till Chef comes back with the crispy stuff.

My favorite roll is the yellow tail Octupus with rice outside and seasme, also comes a bit spicy.

    • No I am pretty sure its Abs & Suli πŸ™‚ And yeah! I asked for the Crispy and they said they were out of the ingredients 😦

  8. basically the story goes is they used to get that stuff from a local supplier and then the local supplier got different material, which did not suit the standards of the place, so they will get it from outside instead, when ? Who knows.

  9. It’s definitely Abs and Suli together. There is another roll that was done by Suli only (which is also delicious), but the Kyoto is both of them.

How can they run out of crispy ingredients?? Isn’t it just tempura batter?

  10. that is what everyone thought, but it is not tempura batter
