GIZIA – Store in Dubai Mall

Now that’s a funny name for a store…. specially when its for ladies evening gowns ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now how to explain this? Well, its kinda lost in translation!
GIZIA in Kuwaiti dialect means…. ย well, I cannot find one word to describe it other than a woman with bad taste or so! ๐Ÿ˜› A tacky woman maybe? ๐Ÿ˜›

The Khan – Part III – Syria (Last Part)

So this is the last part of my first post about The Khan! Yes, its not gonna be the last one for sure – I love this place โค

So lets come in from Med’hat Pasha St.! The main entrance to The Khan ๐Ÿ˜‰ Shall we?

This side is the Fashion Side ๐Ÿ˜‰ (link)

It was originally a khan. Records from the Ottoman era identify it as the Continue reading

The Khan – Part II – Syria

So after a very beautiful tour in The Khan (first part)… I went upstairs to take more pictures of the upper level part of it.

The first couple of rooms I went to were for new designers “Createurs” in the region. Beautiful clutches, accessories, clothing, and more…

Very nice collections of Continue reading

The Khan – Part I – Syria

After a long day at Hameediya and Bakdash Booza,Mrs. Sandra -the very very sweet Sandra- picked me up from the hotel to take me to her store, The Khan (link).

We walked in, she gave me a tour – in the middle of which her husband, and co-owner, Mr. Amjad joined in… they were very friendly and very happy to show me around the place… I was over the moon! The place is really hip and old – in terms of history! Its rich of culture… every room, every wall, every corner has a story! I can’t help but admire such places… they retain the history and culture so well, yet they are welcoming visitors from all over the place in!

Then they let me be…. free with my camera all over the place! I took so many pics so I wont post them all in one blog post ๐Ÿ˜‰ Today is part one ๐Ÿ˜‰

I will start with the side entrance to The Khan..

We will start here, with the Continue reading

Souq Hameediyah – Syria

On my second day in Damascus… my sister woke up early to go to work, while I took it kinda easy. I woke up, had breakfast in the hotel with few notes here and there… planning my day ahead. I started of with Syriatel – I needed a local line ๐Ÿ˜‰ Much cheaper than roaming! Then I asked the hotel for a map + directions to get to Souq Al Hameediyah… to my luck-NOT their map was tiny, so I relied on the directions… pretty clear and easy!

I walked (around 15 mins) to the walled old city of Damascus – You really have to pay attention when crossing the roads…ย pedestrianย crossing is suicidal! Just like Hawalli in Kuwait. I got there in one piece ๐Ÿ˜‰

That was my first sign, Salah AlDeen AlAyoubi statue in front of the citadel and Bab Al Nasr, the entrance to the Souq

Its an old market situated in a historical place… so when you walk around you cant help but Continue reading

Ice Rink at Westfield

While shopping in Westfield in London last December, I snapped few pics of their ice rink

I loved it.. it was full of happy people gliding on ice and having fun ๐Ÿ˜€ If I wasn’t sick I would have joined in

Oh and I loved how they used those penguins to train kids

Wonder if such thing would work in a mall here in Kuwait… whadya think?

Sheeel.. A Deal Everyday

What is Sheeel?

One deal every day that expires at midnight Kuwait time OR when they sell out ๐Ÿ˜‰

You check out the website for the daily special “Today’s Sheeel” and click “Buy Now” if you like it – their prices are very competitive too!

I was offered to try the service -as a gift from them- when they were selling iPod Shuffle 4th Generation G – 2GB

I was excited to have chosen this day ๐Ÿ˜‰ Oh and right after that (after I made sure my order was placed successfully of course) I tweeted about it (there is a link on the site that asks you if you want to share the Sheeel deal of the day).. It spread so fast… even Fahad got one (link) – his review is more thorough on the technical side of the iPod shuffle we got – wonder what color he picked? I got the silver one ๐Ÿ˜› It was selling at KD10 only!!! YES TEN… but I got mine for free ๐Ÿ˜› This adds to my list – I never NEVER bought an iPod in my life… I got them all for FREE (Check my post about all my iPods here) – I also got an iPod Touch from the company I used to work for last year… they gifted all employees of the company an iPod Touch at the time… so whats the total now? SIX free iPods for me so far… BEAT THAT ๐Ÿ˜›

Anyways… now that I am done with my victory dance… lets go back to ๐Ÿ˜‰

My iPod wasย deliveredย to me the very next day viaย Taw9eel with a complimentary Car Window Sunscreen (Thank you Taw9eel :D)

Its just too simple and fun too… The idea is unique and I love it! They deliver to all countries in the GCC region too ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now I check on a daily basis!
