I ran into Mr. Richard Saliba, Operations Manager at MMC, yesterday while in The Avenues. He informed me of many new items at their restaurants; Sawah, Crimson Garden, and Cafe Meem. The teasers are on Twitter @MMCKuwait.

Being the iced tea fan that I am, I have decided to drop by Crimson Garden to try’em out πŸ˜‰ There were three kinds; Tooter (blackberry syrup + fresh orange juice + tea), Sunrise (raspberry syrup + fresh orange juice + tea), and “T”Berry (peach syrup + cranberry juice + tea). I went ahead with the “T”Berry πŸ˜‰

It came in layered! Yes layered πŸ˜‰ Peach Syrup at the bottom, cranberry juice in the middle, and tea on top! Beautiful… I forgot to snap a picture before stirring it and taking a couple of sips (I had mine in a To-Go cup) but here is a picture taken from their facebook group with the original look πŸ˜‰

MORE – Dubai

While in Dubai last March/April we stopped by MORE cafe in Dubai Mall

This is how Β they greeted you! A menu with iced cold water garnished with a lemon slice and fresh mint leaves! It was just perfect… because we walked from our hotel to the mall and it was a bit humid/hot!

Anyways… the place was crowded! Its an open area restaurant in the lower ground level of the mall with lots of things going around!

By lots things going around I meant the Continue reading

Breakfast and Brunch

I have been meaning to try this restaurant for a long time. I remember driving around the area (opposite The One store in Marina Mall) to look for it and giving up because I hated it there… many cafes – the kind I AVOID – and the atmosphere I hate…. so this time, Noufa and I decided to go again and we found it!

The place is TINY! Really tiny with four tables inside – two of which serve a maximum of three each, and the other two serves four persons each. A couple of tables out but that was about it..

On each table is a mini white board that reads “G.Morning Welcome to B&B Pls write us your order” with two markers

I was like MAN! What!!! But Thank God the waitress came to take our orders while Noufa K. took the board and Continue reading

BAKED @ 52 Degrees

I was invited by Ms Farah, the brain behind BAKED, to have a bite there and a quick chit-chat! I gladly accepted since I love her baked yummies (link)

The cafe is situated right there at the entrance… with a very upper-class-like European cafes atmosphere! (more pics on Danderma). Holding the one page menu in my hand reminded me of the cafes in Europe.. simple items that ranges from salads, sandwiches, desserts, and drinks of course! Loved it!

One sandwich grabbed my attention!!!Β PomegranateΒ Club sandwich! Made of Continue reading

The New Gelato Bonbons

Few days ago I posted an announcement that Gelato Italiano were offering bonbonsΒ with new flavors covered in white chocolate; rose, jasmine, and white pistachio! I quickly grabbed my phone and placed an order for one box to have it for our Friday family gathering!

We were all busy watching the Royal Wedding on TV, so THANK GOD for Mr. DeliveryΒ I got our yummies delivered for lunch that day πŸ˜‰

I tried one piece of each… the rose

The white pistachio

And jasmine

Out of the three flavors I tried, I liked the jasmine one the most… followed by the rose, and then the pistachio! Nevertheless… they were all summery and refreshing!

I think Dalal was smart to have’em covered in white chocolate instead of her regular chocolate covered bonbons for a change! The white chocolate complimented those flavors really well! GOD job!!

Gelato Italiano is located on Ahmed AlJaber St in Sharq.Β Their tel is:22434434

French Toast at Baskin Robbins

I love Baskin Robbins’ flavor of the month – French Toast!

I asked for a taste… but could not resist getting one… and for some reason I felt it should be in a cone!

It is SO GOOD! So good that it can be my breakfast for the next couple of days LOL! Come on!!! Its French Toast, so why not!! With those chunks of toast and syrup flavor! Oh YUMM!

Too bad I discovered it yesterday and we only have three days left for this flavor of the month! I loved red velvet flavor which was introduced earlier this year… Now let’s see what May is holding for us πŸ˜‰

Last week I went with my cousin Noufa to Tatami for dinner! We’ve heard so much about the place and it was about time for us to try it πŸ˜‰

The atmosphere was pretty nice… very calm and Japanese-y! I liked it so much. We browsed through the menu and decided to go with the following
Edamame, Salmon Carpaccio, Ebi Tempura, Salmon & Avocado Salad, Exotic Roll, Dancing Shrimp Ura, a bottle of water and a can of diet coke! Shortly after, Chef Dana AlTourah was at our table… actually she was going around all tables talking to customers and suggesting dishes… Super sweet and super cool! She suggested we try the Sesame Nori Chips (seaweed) and have the chocolate truffle molten for dessert… sure, why not πŸ˜‰

Here is what I think!
The sesame nori chips were outta this world… Noufa did not like them one bit, but I loved them so much. Edamame was cooked perfectly, the salmon carpaccio was great… I add ginger to every bite, I just love to eat it this way πŸ˜‰ the salad was okay… just like any salmon avocado salad in any Japanese restaurant in town, and for the extra dressing on the side we got charged 400 fils πŸ˜›

As for the rolls, I liked the dancing shrimp more… they are not too saucy -which is something I like! Having more sauce would kill the natural flavors in it so it was good πŸ™‚ The exotic roll, well… they were okay πŸ˜‰

As for the chocolate truffle molten cake…..

It wasn’t what I expected! Everyone raved about it… everyone said its SO GOOD! I personally think it was just okay! But then again, I am not a chocolate person so you know πŸ˜‰

All in all… the restaurant design is really nice, service was kinda slow (we ordered our drinks four times), but Chef Dana really made up for that. She kept checking on us… I even saw her taking orders herself… taking away empty dishes or even bringing in new ones to the table! She is fabulous!

Our dinner came to a total of KD27.610

The food was good… I wanna try other dishes next time I go, but if you get the chance, do not miss out on the Nori Chips and Salmon Carpaccio πŸ˜‰

Turkish Coffee at Sezva

I have been wanting to try Turkish Coffee at Sezva ever since I saw this picture on my friend Yasmeen’s Facebook

Yesterday I had a meeting in there πŸ˜‰ So it was about time for me to actually try it πŸ˜€ As I was browsing through their items, their Turkish Coffee comes in four different flavors; mastic, cinnamon, chocolate, and vanilla! I picked the mastic flavor, plain

It was just perfect! The mastic flavor added a special touch/taste to the coffee, not to mention the aroma!

I also loved the place, the service, and the presentation! Oh and I also got to meet the manager there πŸ˜€

If I am not mistaken, Sezva is actually “Cezve“, the pot used to make Turkish coffee πŸ˜‰

Read what FAH says about it here!

Sezva Coffee is located in the ground level of Universal Tower on Ahmed AlJaber in Sharq, Kuwait City
