My friend, Noon, and I were up last Friday… and through facebook status updates we decided to go check out the new restaurant Ryoog, the one I spotted with the sign “Opening Soon” a couple of weeks back!
Anywho…. We got there at around 10:05am! The restaurant setting was so inviting… a patio area on grass with tables, and the restaurant itself next to the cashier, in what I explained to Noon as very cozy… in a way it made me feel that I am sitting in one of the houses on Wisteria Lane of Desperate Housewives! Loved it 🙂
Given the fact that the restaurant is new, it was fully packed with customers so we opted for a table out. We were baking and waiting… and waiting! No body came in to take our orders and we were starving!! At around 10:20 we decided we want to wait for a table inside, and boy that took around 30 mins, but we really wanted to try out the place so we waited. A nice guy pointed five minutes to me a couple of times… but it sure took longer than that… anyways, it was 10:50 when we were called in for our table
Very simple very French country very cozy! The menus are actually your table mats with lots of appetizing pictures. Orders were taken at around Continue reading
Earlier last week I got a call from Oishii Sushi offering me a special treat on the occasion of my birthday. Initially, they wanted to send me some of their food items on my birthday, but since I already made plans they decided to send it the day after 😉
At around 8:30PM and as promised, I got a call from their delivery guy telling me that the food is here! I was out and on my way home… I started drooling -lol- because I have been thinking about them all day that day! I so wanted to try their so much talked about and advertised Mini Sushi Burgers, and I was promised some that day. I came home to my dinner gift from Oishii
Gotta love the presentation! Its so neat. The balloons, the Sushi birthday cake, and the bags… oh and the personalized Continue reading

- 3 cups of shredded coconuts, divided
- 10 Oz of condensed sweetened milk
- 1 tsp vanilla essence (optional)
- Your choice of raw or roasted nuts
- In a bowl, mix 2 1/2 cups of coconut with the sweetened condensed milk (adding vanilla essence is optional)
- Roll into a dough and let it set aside for 10 mins or so
- Form small balls with the dough (in my case, the balls were used for hazelnuts, and the cylindrical ones were used for almonds) – and insert a piece of nut into the balls completely.
- Roll the balls on the 1/2 cup of coconut for coating garnish
- Refrigerate for at least couple of hours before serving
Aaaaand…… Voila 😉

Okay! So there is an insider joke in our family about why we celebrate my sister’s birthday with a candle on a McDonalds cheeseburger! We have been doing this for few years now and I just wanted to break out of the ordinary and give her actual sugar on her birthday 😉
I came across Frost group on Facebook and when I browsed through their pictures, I saw that they offer cheeseburger shape cupcakes 😉 PERFECT!
I quickly thought of a theme, cheeseburgers from McDonalds along with those cupcakes to have with our friends 😉 And maybe a giant cupcake for our Friday family gathering.
Thats our order here 😉 I LOVED it… loved the attention to details, the taste, and the laughs and smiles that came along with it or after seeing/tasting those yummy treats!

I came across this facebook group about servants. They talk about them as goods to “sell”
The group description goes something like; This group is for those looking for a driver or a house maid. Or for those who want to sell a driver or house maid.
Someone posted this on the wall: I have a 23 year old Ethiopian house maid that can do anything and everything but I want to sell her because I will be traveling for a long time. Send me a message if interested
WTH!!! Sell!!!! Are they for real!!!
and this one above from their discussion board, the person who posted is saying: A maid for sale for KD600 who can cook, clean, and is used to screaming at.
Okay, I know by “sell” they did not mean SELL literally, but come on! Never in my life, in my family, circle of friends, and people I know heard it in such expression! Never heard it this way…. and what about “used to being screamed at?” Come on!
