I was invited by AlSeef Hospital Marketing Team to attend (and cover on my blog) the Blood Drive they organized yesterday along with the BMW Motorbike Club.
Everything looked well organized and ready at the hospital! Then Ms. Razan AlRoudan, Marketing & PR manager at AlSeef, two nice nurses, and I took one of the ambulances to the Green Island – the starting and meetup point of the event.
Few people were already there when we got to to The Green Island
Representative from the BMW Motorbike Club were there organizing the event and making sure everything was going smoothly
Media representatives were all over the place – Kuwait TV and other private channels too 😉
The weather was really nice for riders to take the drive – plus it was for a good cause 😉 The number of bikers increased as time passed by
Kuwait Central Blood Bank booth was now ready to test hemoglobin levels, blood pressure, and the necessary tests/questions to see who is eligible to donate blood
I was the first person to do the test 😉
The place was full of energy and cool people around – all smiles and all ready to hel save lives 🙂
The numbers of bikers kept on increasing… The BMW Motorbike invited everyone
Harley drivers started to come in – the atmosphere was a killer with all the monster machines around
Its getting better and everyone is mingling, media was all over the place, people started lining up to do blood tests… it was really nice
And here is Eng. Jafar Behbehani, the BMW Motorbike President, in the scene with all smiles 🙂
And a group picture for everyone… almost everyone
And everyone is getting ready to head to AlSeef Hospital to donate blood and save lives 😉
Blood Bank team is going to be there too to help out
And off we go
Bikers arrived and were guided to the designated area outside to park their car and for the CEO’s speech
Gotta love the patriotism 😉
Everyone was present; AlSeef Hospital Team, BMW Motorbike Team, Harley Davidson riders, Kuwait Riders Club, Blood Bank Team. Thalassemia Association representative, Ministry of Health, people coming to donate blood, and Club 25 (AMAZING VOLUNTEERS – who work on spreading awareness and try to donate blood 25 times before they reach the age of 25) – I hope I didnt miss out on anyone…
Here is AlSeef Hospital CEO, Dr. Yousef Abu Dahr giving his welcoming speech to everyone and thanking them for their efforts into helping saving lives
Dr. Rana AlAbdulrazaq from the Blood Bank who was very pregnant but full of support and energy, God bless her
And the very nice BMW Motorbike President, Eng. Jafar Behbehani giving his speech
15th Floor was ready to receive blood donations, 8th floor was for afterwards refreshments and relaxing areas…
I have to admit that I was concerned with organizing such event with the public, motorbike riders, hospital representatives and all but was amazed of the outcome… everything was going on smoothly! Tasks were given to different parties. Ministry of Health/Blood Bank did a great job working with AlSeef Hospital team
Riders followed the rules and were happy and friendly with everyone
It was going very smoothly, with everyone waiting for their turn into donating blood – I was very pleased and happy with the results/outcomes
Media was still covering the event interviewing doctors and everyone there
AlSeef Hospital management team was all over the place to see how things are going and attend to everyone’s need and answering questions
Thalassemia Association Team were giving out flowers to everyone donating blood 😉
Blood Bank team worked hand in hand with the 25 Club and it was a job WELL DONE 😉
Thank you AlSeef Hospital and BMW Motorbike Club for organizing such event… the outcome was super and everything was very well put-together 😉 Chapeau Bas
UPDATE:
Just got an email from BMW Motorcycle Club with more info 😉

I would Like to thank every single person who participated in this great and philanthropic event and I would like to thank BMW motorbike club and al seef hospital for this greet idea and we’re always looking forward to contribute in more events organized from BMW club
Thank you for your kind words and description of the event. I strongly believe that this event has two main great outcomes. One; the humane cause in giving so many people who are in need a gift of life. Two; a strong communication tool to show how behavior CAN be changed and the misconception that bikers are generally reckless are actually people who show responsibility.
This looks like it was a great event! I wish i participated but i’m too much of a chicken 😛
