Porsche World Roadshow 2010 – Kuwait

Earlier last month, I got invited to Porsche World Roadshow 2010 in Kuwait – The first “Ladies Only” Event ever πŸ˜‰ I went with my sister as a guest, but they quickly switched her to driver since she’s a Porsche owner… the day was already getting fun at this point

The event was held at Regency Hotel & Resort in AlBedaa, and we were scheduled for the morning session! The event is supposed to start at 9:00AM Dec 10th, and my sister and I were the only ones there ON TIME lol! You start off with the sign in process and then have a brief presentation about the event itself

After the presentation and quick refreshment/breakfast we were asked to go out to get some safety tips and know more about Porsche, the event guidelines, and basic safety info…. here is Tobian, one of our fabulous instructors!

So we started of with Panamera S, my sister took the first drive…

So this is how it goes. We drive from the hotel to Subiyah, making stops to change/switch cars and drivers… going to the car in front of you, if you’re in the front then you move to the back… all under the supervision of our instructors – who were connected with us the whole trip by walkie-talkies giving info, instructions, tips, and letting us speak when we have a question or when faced with a problem! The staff also accompanied us and they were very organized, friendly, attentive, and helpful! It was so much fun!

My sister and I took tasks, the driver focuses on the road, while the passenger take pics πŸ˜‰ We decided who drives which car and we were in total harmony πŸ˜‰

And off we hit the road

We made the first stop to switch cars and drivers, and it was my turn now πŸ˜‰

The day was just getting better and better… and as the street were getting emptier, we had bigger chances of really hearing those monster engines

Porsche is such a nice car to speed in πŸ˜‰

Heading towards Jahra for our next stop

Making another quick stop at Jahra’s Capthorne… never head of it before, but seems like a hotel and a mall or something?

It was just getting really good and everyone was enjoying the event to the max…

Yeeehaaaaaa

And we were just right in the front, behind the first car of the other instructor Stef…

And we reached our turning back point 😦

At this point I was driving the Cayenne Turbo! Nice one too πŸ˜‰ But I wasnt ready to go back LOL

And here is Stef, heading towards our car at one of the stops… who nicknamed me and my sister as Speedy Gonzales I and Speedy Gonzales II LOL! Yes we were enjoying the event way too speedy LOL

We reached the hotel for the awards ceremony at around 12:30-1:00PM

Our fabulous, full of energy and laughs instructors Tobian and Stef… who were such a delight to have

Not to mention the Porsche Team/Staff in Kuwait who organized this event (Reem and Marshal in the picture below)

Despite my sickness… and my mild jet lag, I really had a great day!

  7. We drive the same route almost every weekend at dawn.
And I was setting with a guy from Porsche telling us about what’s going to happen.
    now my questions:
    – Do you own a Porsche ?
    – if not, Do you consider buying one after the test drive ?
    -if yes, Which one ?
-Did you got the chance to drive the 997 Turbo?

  8. Very professional coverage of the event, you did a better job than most local media would. Thank you.
