Not too long ago, I tried Housny Restaurant with my sister and a friend.
The place is nothing special, not fancy, but its okay 😉 The staff however are so friendly and very helpful 😉 We started off with fresh-out-of-the-oven Arabic bread, which tasted and smelled SO GOOD!
and another basket of toasted buttered bread with some herbs
Their Baba Ghannouch was really good. The Egyptian way is different than the Lebanese one. It contains more tahini. My sister liked it more than the Lebanese one
Beetroot Salad, it was all gone – mostly by me LOL – I love beetroot
Shrimps – batter fried – and they were also good!
Egyptian rice with noodles… it was hmmm…. okay!
Milokhiya, it was good… we make a yummier one at home 😛
Now the stuffed zucchini, stuffed cabbages, and stuffed vine leaves were meh! We had one piece each and those dishes were left untouched! I also did not like the presentation of’em!
The grilled chicken skewers were not bad at all… I guess they made up for the above three dishes!
Okrah stew, well… it was bland and tasteless… I had one bite, and that was it 😦
Our bill came to a total of KD18-19
All in all, it was a fun experience, I most likely would not go again (its not Abou El Sied), but I was told to give it another go to try their AMAZING seafood dishes – anyone tried it before?
