My friend Shushu got me the cutest tea set a couple of years back for my birthday

And our cousins from Dubai got us those amazing Chinese Jasmine Pearls tea

aaaand because we had a special guest at our house, Latoops, I wanted to try the tea set for the first time ever in her honor

This is a tiny tiny cup… it may look bigger in the picture above, that is why Latoops suggested we add something…. like a…. BlackBerry Curve maybe? Just to give you an idea!

Yes… The curve’s screen is bigger than the cup itself. But thats the main idea, according to the tea lesson thingy I have attended in Taiwan; when drinking fine tea (with fine leaves), they should be drunk from a small cup. Reason is you dont want to pour those leaves into larger cup with too much water, it will brew those fine leaves you have way too fast which will affect the color, aroma, and most importantly the taste

Interestingly enough, the dragons on the set changes color when you pour the hot tea in’em!

For all of you who left me a comment, email, text message, twitter tweet… and who called me! It made my day much brighter. As you may all know, I went through a mini surgery -nothing serious at all- to remove some fatty tissue on my upper left eyelid. It wasnt as painful as I expected, but I experience huge discomfort that I wanted to throw up few times through out the procedure itself and the remaining of the day

Do not read further if you have a “soft stomach” otherwise, go on….

I was basically taken into the treatment room. The nurse used some kind of eye drops and ointment to numb the area. My dad was with me at the time. I was told the doctor will come in to INJECT the area after 10 minutes or so. The doctor came in and asked if my dad could wait outside because it wont be a “pleasant sight”. I wish I did not open my eyes to see how big the needle/injection was :-S

The doctor took his time injecting that tingly thing to numb the area even more. It felt like forever. Then he flipped my eyelid and placed some metal tool on my left eye to keep the eyelid still… something with screws or whatever! :-S :-S :-S I could feel everything, it wasnt painful because it was numb, but the feeling in indescribable! YUCK! When he was done he took that tool off and examined the area and was like.. we missed some lets flip it back again! :’-(

My feeling was beyond imagination at this point! I was so tense and wanted to get the thing over with… till he said its okay now, took the metal thingy off and my eyelid automatically shut close… I tried to open my eye only to realize that there was blood in :-S

Then they kept pressure on the eye, covered the area with a patch… and voila! Captain Ansam, the pirate, is ready to go! As I was walking out to get the paperwork done, get the meds, and some water… The line at the cafe in the hospital wasnt long, but the baristas were taking forever I almost fainted standing up! Thank God for having me papa with me

I was told to keep the patch for six hours, but I kept it for eight… when I removed it, my eye looked a bit swollen and red…. kinda looked sleepy too with my eyelid hanging down… the wound started bleeding again, I got queasy again but held it up okay! I took the meds and then went to bed. Woke up with a swelling, but its purplish today… it started bleeding again so I went to AlBahar and was examined again and given antibiotic! I am hoping it will all go away tomorrow!

My eye still feels weak and the stress is all on the right eye, so I am taking it easy! It took me some long hours to write, save as draft, edit again… and post this post! So ignore all the spelling and grammar mistakes please

I also have so many posts lined up that I plan to update and post this weekend. I will be back on track in no time and make up for the past few days

That’s a HUGE NO-NO!!!

Baking Tray is becoming one of my favorite “hangout” places in town. In this post, I am giving you the reason why I fell in love with this place so fast!

To begin with, I love the location. Its close to where I work, and it has both; indoor and outdoor seating areas.

The outdoor area is so cozy and nice….

And I dont mind the indoor one with its baking trays ceiling and their beautiful whiskers’ chandelier

And their blackboard wall menu with all those colorful items… YUMMMM

There are days that I would just go there to have their famous Chai & Haleeb

Well to be honest, its just tea and milk, but the whole experience (service, presentation, spices used) make up for it and make it so worth it and you really wanna go back for it

Other than that, I am on a mission to try as many items on their menu as much as I can… Well, I kinda did that with their sandwiches’ selection! I tried all, but not the Rustic Vegetables, but my sister did and I have pictures of all of them for you to see with a mini caption in each So lets begin… shall we?

Chicken Semolina: Mustard marinated chicken on a basil–mayo spread finished with oven dried tomatoes

Turkey on a Sunflower: Hickory Smoked Turkey breast with Gruyere cheese, caramelized grapes, and sprouts finished with a balsamic reduction

The Roast: Homemade roasted beef with Emmenthal cheese and organic horseradish mayo

Philly Steak: Prime beef, onions, mushrooms, and cheddar in a ciabatta

Norway Salmon: Prime Norwegian Smoked Salmon, crunchy snow peas, with a spread of onion cream cheese

Garlic Chicken Avocado: Grilled chicken breast and avocado finished with roasted garlic flavored labneh

Halloumi on Ciabatta: Herb marinated Halloumi cheese with mango-cucumber conserve presented on a grilled turmeric ciabatta

Spicy Apricot Turkey: Smoked turkey and Mozzarella on a spicy apricot chutney

The EBT: Fried eggs, Bacon, tomatoes (roasted)

Rustic Vegetable Focaccia: Oven roasted seasonal vegetables with sun dried tomato pesto sprinkled with goat cheese

Wild Mushroom: Wild forest mushrooms presented on white farmer bread with grilled Feta cheese enhanced with a chilli mayo

Now which one is my favorite? Well… I ordered the Garlic Chicken Avocado and Turkey on a Sunflower three times each… So its a tie between the two. I also loved their Roast and Norway Salmon! And to be quite honest, their fresh and interesting ingredients tickle my taste buds in so many different ways! I get the “surprise with every bite” kinda feeling every time I order something from them!

Aside of their sandwiches, they sell their own homemade jams and pickles

Knowing me, I am not a BIG fan of pickles, but I always ask for extra pickles when dining there!

And those two dishes in the back are from their pizza selection;

Dijon Chicken with roasted onions, capers, zucchini and Mozzarella cheese

And Tomo pizza: Herb infused tomato and mozzarella cheese

I am telling you! I am on a mission to finish up that menu on the wall… I tried few of their side dishes such as the mozzarella triangles, oven roasted potatoes, oven roasted tomatoes, and sautéed mushrooms

Fresh mozzarella covered in bread crumbs, served with homemade tomato sauce

Freshly baked potato wedges

Roasted tomatoes

Mushroom in a light creamy sauce

I also tried few items from their breakfast menu…

Thats Eggs Over Easy.. Basically its brown toasted break with a spread of labneh and two eggs over easy topped with bacon! YUMMMM

And thats Turkey and Cheese – oven baked (forgot its name)

from their sweet side, I tried their Date Cake… which is the only item I did not like much… aside from everything I tried.

Well… It wasnt as good as their cookies!! My oh my! Their cookies’ selection. I liked the chocolate chip and dates with harda (tahini) ones the most! I even got some for my friend one day, who fell in love with them instantly and that inspired me to an idea of asking the people at Baking Tray to make one BIG chocolate chip cookie specially made for her! AND THEY DID!

They called the chef from the kitchen and the manager who both worked on creating this gigantic cookie for me Another reason why I really LOVE the Baking Tray!

I went to my optometrist to perform the lipoma removal this morning (the fatty tissue in me left eyelid). It was okay, not too painful but really BIG discomfort! I wanted to throw up, plus my vision was kinda bloody :-S and right now I am still one-eyed and waiting for 7:00pm to remove the patch and see if I need to go back or not. Oh and I have a bad headache too will update you all later Thanks for your sweet messages, comments, and Facebook comments! You made my day brighter. Oh and I am sending this post from my phone so I hope it comes out nicely

I am not feeling well, I have not eaten anything all day.. and not hungry at all!

I have a sore throat and a headache….

Aaaaand I need to go see a surgeon this afternoon to decide if I need a surgery (very simple one day procedure thingy in my eyelid)

And did I mention that I have the worst headache ever?? But since I am not eating, I cant take any meds and living on 4head….

I am not even halfway to replying to all of your comments. I cant concentrate and I just want to lay down
